This module Competency Unit 5 (CU5): Support general reference and information enquiry work addresses the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed in supporting, communicating and helping information needs of a variety of information seekers using the libraries. It also covers the reference interview techniques and the evaluation and use of printed and online information resources and services to assist the information-seeker.

 

This competency unit comprises the following competency elements:

 

1. Answer basic enquiries about library collection, services, use, facilities and procedures

 

2. Receive enquiries from users and identify appropriate librarian or library staff to handle queries
