Event Info Center for Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS) and the School for Art, Design, and Media (ADM) invites you to attend RESTORING EDEN AT NTU Ecology, Art, Design, And Culture Along The Silk Road Day One: Eden in Iraq Project, 9.30am - 5.30pm Day Two: Environmental Design: NEWRI and Beyond, 10.00am - 5.00pm This two day workshop will bring together environmental scientists, artists, landscape architects, and designers to present design projects initiated at NTU and realized abroad. These include the ADM Eden in Iraq wastewater garden project in the Mesopotamian marshes of S. Iraq, and the International water remediation projects initiated by NEWRI (Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute). Invited design professionals will contribute their related international projects to the discussion. In addition, landscape architects of the Cleantech campus Eco Garden will lead a tour of the site next door to NTU and discuss the process that brought it to fruition. The Eden in Iraq and NEWRI Projects offer working models for collaborations across disciplines to restore water, land, and culture. By using art and design in hand with groundbreaking scientific research, these remediation sites can revitalize water, land, body, and community.
