RESTORING EDEN AT NTU
Ecology, Art, Design, And Culture
Along The Silk Road

Day One: Eden in Iraq Project, 9.30am - 5.30pm
Day Two: Environmental Design: NEWRI and Beyond, 10.00am - 5.00pm

This two day workshop will bring together environmental scientists, artists, landscape architects, and
designers to present design projects initiated at NTU and realized abroad. These include the ADM
Eden in Iraq wastewater garden project in the Mesopotamian marshes of S. Iraq, and the International
water remediation projects initiated by NEWRI (Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute).
Invited design professionals will contribute their related international projects to the discussion. In
addition, landscape architects of the Cleantech campus Eco Garden will lead a tour of the site next door
to NTU and discuss the process that brought it to fruition.

The Eden in Iraq and NEWRI Projects offer working models for collaborations across disciplines to
restore water, land, and culture. By using art and design in hand with groundbreaking scientific research,
these remediation sites can revitalize water, land, body, and community.

We warmly invite you to participate in what promises to be an exciting workshop.
Students are encouraged to attend.
