Event Info
"Sockaroos" – a term creatively coined by artist Nana Pong – refers to the first character series of her art, which she creates with socks. Inspired by the colours and prints of socks and also the upcycling movement for sustainable living, she created her first “sock sculpture” (Sockaroos) in 2006 and has not stopped creating since. After the "sockaroos" series, 30 other characters were subsequently created. Some of her works have developed into other forms of media such as illustrations and 3D printing objects. De-stress from your exams and make something special for yourself or a loved one. Join in the fun of making a sock sculpture and learn to upcycle used* socks into something lovable! Decorate it with 3D-printed ornaments created by the artist. (*For hygiene reasons, participants will make a "sockaroos" using all new materials.)
