Event Info

This workshop will involve discussions on biophysical principles in the growth and development of microbial biofilms. Biofilm research is gaining much from technologies that can track biofilm cells and microscopic processes live and at high resolution thus producing high density datasets. Quantitative approaches derived from physics will be discussed that are being applied to understand how interactions of complex molecular systems lead to the collective organization and dynamics that we see during biofilm development. Both fundamentals and research frontiers will be discussed in this workshop catering to students and research community interested in this interesting interface of disciplines.

Invited speakers:  Gerard Wong (UCLA, USA), Ramin Golestanian (Oxford Univ, UK), Berenike Maier (Univ Cologne, Germany)
