Garin Nugroho will share his methods in the philosophy’s perspective that he has been practiced more than three decades from 1981 to the present. He will present how to create or develop ideas into films like the philosophy of  "a farmer" and the philosophy of "mixed rice". The filmmaker must find suitable land while considering skills capital, social capital, economic capital to cultural capital. Find how the management of making films in Asia
combines with western-style. About how to adopt aspects of the film to the local area, both from production management to the creative process. and how he researches a new map and also has to build a new market for his films.

Bio

Garin Nugroho was born in Jogjakarta, graduated from the faculty of the film at Jakarta Institute of Arts. He is considered as a pioneer for a new generation of the ’90s and is one of the most important Southeast Asian filmmakers having negotiated the complexities of his nation through the language of film. His films have been presented in various films festivals, such as Cannes, Venice, Berlin and he won numerous awards. His work extends to commercials, music videos, theater, art installation, writer for newspaper and books and he established JAFF (Jogja Netpac Asian film festival) among others.  Grain Nugroho has received cultural ambassador award of Sultan Jogjakarta, President Habibie culture award,
the French honorary decoration of Chevalier dans l’ordre des Arts et Lettres, the Stella D’atelerie Cavalerie award from the Italian government (Stella D'Italia Cavaliere), Singapore Honorary award, and cultural diversity award APSA patron Unesco.
