Wo+Men fEST will be celebrating its 5th anniversary in promoting learning, sharing innovations and advances in and for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics this year!

In this special edition themed as 'Inspiring Learning in STEM', the event features five inspiring academics from across disciplines to share insights, best practices and advancements on creating a conducive environment and engaged learning to inspiring learning in STEM. As part of the celebration, participants can look forward to a free online movie screening, stand a chance to win Grab vouchers in a social media contest, and apply for the WiEST Conference Grant available on 7 Nov 2021!


1. Wo+Men fEST 2021 - Celebrating its 5th Anniversary
Date: 12 Nov 2021 (Friday)

•    Prof Seetoh Pei Pei - Children’s ideas about STEM
•    Prof Balázs Gulyás - How to Raise Olympic Gold Medallist Children and be a World Leading Female Scientist at the Same Time?
•    Prof Miao Chun Yan,  AI for 3H
•    Prof Rebecca Heaton, Locating the Arts in STEM Education
•    Prof David Lallemant, Probabilistic Risk Analysis and the Promotion of Resilient and Equitable Communities


2. Movie Screening
Date & Time : From 12 - 14 Nov 2021, 11.59pm (Friday - Sunday)
Movie title: 'Code: Debugging the Gender Gap'

How does it work: Upon registration, participants will be entitled to enjoy the free award-winning movie via Vimeo over the weekend, from 12 - 14 Nov. The movie URL and its login details will be shared via email on 12 Nov.  


3. Social Media Contest - This is What A Woman in STEM Look Like!
Contest Period:
 From 1 - 20 Nov 2021
Contest Prize: 10 lucky winners will walk away with $20 Grab vouchers.

How does it work: With this contest, we hope to introduce STEM to girls, break common stereotypes, and raise the awareness of women in the STEM fields. Simply download the template from our story, share a picture of how confident women in STEM look like, tag us (Women@NTU and @POWERSatNTU) on Instagram and share with 3 of your friends. Winners will be notified via emails and DM on the week of November.

4. WiEST Conference Grant 2022 - Call for Applications
Application Period:
 From 12 Nov - 31 Dec 2021.
Eligibility: 4th year PhD and early career researchers in STEM
