Event Info

Taking the heat off cooling through a greener way to cool is the motto behind the innovation of SP Group’s centralised cooling system.

From 1980 to 2020, the annual mean temperature has increased from 26.9°C to 28.0°C. Daily mean temperatures are projected to increase by 1.4°C to 4.6°C.

A mean temperature increase of 1.5°C to 2.5°C could affect the natural diversity of Singapore’s plants and put animals at risk, threaten food safety and affect our public health.

Mr Foo Yang Kwang is the chief engineer behind Marine Bay largest underground district cooling project. Hear from Mr Foo how SP Group overcame the various challenges in building the world’s largest underground district cooling network in 2016.

Did You Know?

A distributed district cooling (DDC) network can potentially generate S$4.3 million in annual economic value. Saving the earth and saving money. Why not?
