Hear from Ms Fiona Chua, the Assistant Vice President of Capitaland who played a vital role in the construction of the 10-storey Jewel with a roof measuring approximately 200m long and 150m wide. Jewel's facade comprises 9,000 specially manufactured glass panels are used to form the façade. Each of these glass pieces are unique and are identified by a QR code before they are fitted in place. The glass was selected for its ability to transmit daylight, be energy efficient and minimise heat gain – an important factor given the tropical weather.
