Research on Supply Chain Disruption Risk and Resilience Modelling and Analysis

Abstract:

The trend towards building resilient supply chains reflects the need for businesses to build robust supply chain systems in the face of increasing uncertainty and global change. With the current uncertain global conditions due to the pandemic, geopolitical tensions, inflation, and climate change, the need for resilient supply chains has become increasingly important. This seminar will explore the latest trends and research in supply chain disruption risk and resilience modelling, with a focus on the current needs and challenges that organizations face in building resilient supply chains. Key topics will include the modelling and analysis of disruption risks influenced by geopolitical tensions, natural disasters, and pandemics, as well as the emerging priorities of resilience in the supply chain. The presentation will cover:

  • Supply chain disruption risk models using Value at Risk (VaR) to quantify disruption risks.
  • An innovative approach to resilience modelling based on structural characteristics using graph theory.

The seminar will also address the strategic shifts towards Industry 5.0 and the adoption of AI technologies to enhance supply chain logistics effectiveness. Attendees will gain a better understanding of future research trends and insights into enhancing supply chain resilience and flexibility against disruptions, with a particular emphasis on the fundamental research issues of modelling and analytics to navigate the complex supply network challenges.
