| Title | Computing Nonverbal Social Responsiveness in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder Using Facial Action Units and Head Rotation Data in Computer and In-person Tasks |
| Summary | This project investigates nonverbal social responsiveness in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) compared to typically developing peers, focusing on two structured experimental contexts: computer-based games and in-person tasks. From video recordings of these interactions, we will extract de-identified quantitative features, including facial Action Units (AUs) and head rotation (yaw, pitch, roll), to capture children’s responsiveness in a systematic way. The analysis will emphasize core social responses such as name calling, gaze/point following, gesture imitation, and emotional expression. |
