Title | Self-Proposed FYP in Electronics/IC Design |
Summary | I am looking for self-motivated students who are willing to develop a self-proposed idea with me, rather than have me hand out an idea for them to work on. We must have an initial discussion first, to confirm if you are suitable, but note it will usually takes a few more weeks of going back-and-forth before we set the final course of the project. The title and description can then be adjusted, to be finalized by October 2025. If you want to develop a self-proposed FYP, then please pitch an initial idea to me for validation. We may pivot to other ideas from there. Bear in mind it needs to have enough technical merit, so I will select a student based on (1) self-motivation and (2) technical competency to succeed, based on the applicants. This project is intended for the Smart Electronics/IC Design area, so for example, my past projects had students designing their own microphone equalizer, vacuum-tube stereo amplifier, guitar effects pedal, and echolocation system because of my background in audio engineering. IC design projects are also very welcome, especially if you want to build and test a transistor level design using discrete building blocks like matched pairs, for example a low-noise super-buffer or 2-stage op-amp with variable frequency compensation. I am open to other proposals not in this area as well, and can convert the title accordingly. |
