Title A Smart Care Bed System with Integrated Health Monitoring
Summary The objective of this project is to design and implement a Smart Care Bed System that integrates motorized bed adjustment with health monitoring and IoT connectivity. Blood oxygen level, heart rate, and body temperature can be measured using integrated health sensors. In addition, a weight sensor and pressure sensors are included for posture detection and bed sore prevention. This system provides caregivers and family members with a comprehensive overview of the user’s health and safety.

The prototype will be developed based on an existing motorized care bed frame, with self-developed code logic and hardware integrations comprising sensors, actuators, a Raspberry Pi–based control unit with touchscreen interface, and remote monitoring through mobile and web platforms.

The project scope focuses on reliable and stable data collection, visualization, and alert functions. Advanced clinical diagnosis or medical decision-making will not be performed under this system, as it is intended only as a home-level bed accessory.

In summary, vital sign monitoring and IoT connectivity are unified into a single platform. The Smart Care Bed System aims to bridge the gap between conventional nursing beds and healthcare technologies. The project will demonstrate how embedded systems can be applied to enhance safety, comfort, and quality of care for users.
