| Title | Autonomous Wet Floor Assistance Robot to Reduce Slip Hazards |
| Summary | During wet weather, rainwater can be swept indoors by wind, creating slip hazards in semi-outdoor areas. This project aims to develop an autonomous robot that detects and manages wet floors to enhance safety and reduce manual cleaning efforts. The robot utilizes a Raspberry Pi and OpenCV for vision-based wet floor detection and employs a zig-zag navigation algorithm to ensure comprehensive area coverage. When water is detected, the robot directs it toward the nearest drain before resuming its cleaning path. To optimize operation, the robot remains docked during heavy rainfall, activates during moderate rain, and performs a final cleaning pass once rain subsides. The robot maintaining indoor or semi-outdoor areas such as corridors and walkways, reducing manual cleaning effort and improving safety in wet conditions. |
