Title Sensorless control of PMSM based on sliding mode control algorithm for Electric and Hybrid Vehicles
Summary To reduce the cost and space of the drive system, sensorless control methods have been extensively applied in permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs) to eliminate the position sensor. However, the traditional methods based on sliding mode observer are suffering from sliding mode chattering, leading to degraded performance. Therefore, an improved sliding mode method should be developed to achieve improved position estimation. This project requires students to develop an advanced sensorless control method for PMSM drive system and then validate its effectiveness through MATLAB/Simulink.
