Title | Fingerprint & Iris-Based Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) System for online security |
Summary | Recent studies show that use of online services has significantly increased, however, the online attacks have also been on the rise at the same time and in majority cases, the attack was results of an unauthorized access. Thus, this project aims to develop a fingerprint and iris recognition-based multi-factor authentication (MFA) system for enhanced security. Student will use publicly available biometric datasets like FVC (Fingerprint Verification Competition) and CASIA-Iris Dataset. Student will extract fingerprint minutiae points using OpenCV and detect iris features using Hough Transform & Daugman’s Algorithm. For, authentication ML models (SVM, CNN, or KNN) will be trained to classify valid vs. invalid users. Since this system uses fingerprint and iris scanning, it provides double-layer security and will protects against password breaches & identity theft. |
