Title | Pre-intercalated vanadium-based oxides as cathode for high-performance aqueous zinc-ion batteries |
Summary | Layered vanadium oxides are promising cathodes for rechargeable aqueous zinc ion batteries (AZIBs) owing to multiple valence states of vanadium and relatively high interplanar spacing. However, they suffer from significant capacity degradation caused by vanadium dissolution and structural instability during cycling, particularly at low current densities. This project aims to address these challenges by optimizing vanadium oxides through pre-intercalation. First, the chemical state and crystal structure of the pre-intercalation will be analysed by various material characterisation techniques such as SEM, XRD and TEM. Subsequently, the electrochemical performance and dynamic advantages of the intercalated materials were evaluated through electrochemical testing. |
