| Title | Smartphone-based Biosensors through 3D Printing Technology |
| Summary | Smartphones integrated with biosensors have been endowed with great potential to revolutionize traditional imaging, sensing and diagnostic systems. Hence, the effectiveness of smartphone-based analytical biosensors has already been demonstrated in numerous applications such as healthcare diagnostics, environment monitoring, and food toxin screening. This FYP project aims to develop a smart phone imaging system for large scale screening of cells/DNA/bactiera using based on optical images and fluorescent dyes. The student will use 3D printing technology to print components to build a smart phone imaging structure. install optical/electrical filters, and use the system to image biological samples. This is an experimental based project. Interested students shall send an email to Prof. Chen with your brief CV.
