Title Development of MSc student and staff applications with automation to streamline academic and administrative processes
Summary As Nanyang Technological University (NTU) transitions into a Smart Campus, there is a growing demand for digital solutions to enhance student experience and administrative operations. Currently, Master of Science (MSc) students often have to navigate multiple platforms to access essential resources such as GPA calculator, job opportunities or dissertation information. In addition, many processes rely on separate Microsoft Forms. This fragmented experience increases complexity, resulting in reduced efficiency and accessibility. Concurrently, the allocation and management of resources for script checking pose significant challenges for the administrative staff, particularly when the schedule and staff are subject to frequent changes. Therefore, there is a need to streamline these processes to improve efficiency, user experience and reduce administrative burden.

This project addresses these issues by developing two separate applications using Microsoft Power Platform: a one-stop application for MSc students and a resource allocation application for the administrative staff. The student app serves as a centralised platform that unifies academic and career information, with existing Microsoft forms fully migrated into PowerApps forms. The staff app is designed to assign script checkers and venues to sessions while also accommodating staff availability and professor preferences.
