Title One Stop Digital Platform for EEE MSc Students Transitioning into NTU
Summary In NTU, due to the lack of a centralised platform, student resources are distributed across
multiple platforms, creating significant inefficiencies in locating resources. For instance, details
of administrative tasks such as calculator registration and mandatory medical checkups are
scattered across different platforms. School maps are only accessible online, and there is no
consolidated directory of dining options with locations and operating hours indicated.
Furthermore, most announcements are published through email, which are often overlooked by
students. This reduces the awareness and participation of events. Lastly, the high pressure to
perform well induces significant mental distress to students, especially among international
students who have to cope being in a new environment.
To address these issues, this project proposes developing a mobile application that consolidates
essential student resources into a single platform. This application will feature functions such as
navigation maps for school buildings, food directory with filters, a structured to-do list for
administrative tasks and a centralised news feed to keep students up to date on the events
happening on campus. In addition, there will be easier access to mental health resources and
peer support groups. In all, this app aims to improve ease of access and foster a stronger sense of community within NTU.
