Title Bit-Error Rate and Outage Probability for Cooperative Relay Networks
Summary In this project, we investigate the bit-error rate (BER) and outage probability of a cooperative relay network. The system model consists of three nodes, namely, a single-antenna transmitter, a single-antenna relay and a multiple-antenna receiver. This configuration describes a scenario in which a certain mobile terminal acts as a relaying node for another mobile terminal that does not have a reliable communication link. It is expected that the connection to the base station will be improved through the cooperation. Initially, we will focus on amplify-and-forward relay networks. It may be extended to a more challenging decode-and-forward relay network, if possible.
