Title | Camera-free human posture detection |
Summary | Human posture detection can typically be achieved using one or more cameras. However, in certain situations, the use of cameras is not suitable — for example, in toilets, private rooms, or other areas where privacy is a concern. Despite these restrictions, there is a strong need to monitor the posture of elderly individuals and patients in such environments. In this Final Year Project (FYP), the student is required to propose a strategic plan to develop a posture detection system using light detectors and LEDs instead of cameras. The student will design and implement the detection system, and establish the relationship between the signals collected from the light detectors and the corresponding human postures. This will enable posture detection through continuous monitoring of the detected signals. |
