Title Non-volatile ferroelectric photonics for in-memory photonic computing
Summary This project focuses on developing a non-volatile ferroelectric photonic memory for photonic computing, leveraging ferroelectric materials integrated onto silicon photonic platforms. The memory enables optically read, electrically programmable, non-destructive, multi-level storage with high endurance and retention, addressing the growing computational demands of artificial intelligence. The aim of this project is to simulate and characterize non-volatile ferroelectric photonic phase shifter. The student will leverage his past experience to optimize the photonic phase shifter, followed by learning to characterize the non-volatile tuning performance of the device. Device fabrication will be conducted by IME staff. This project is co-supervised by Dr Dong Bowei. Of IME, ASTAR.
