| Title | Speak Screen: A Universal Reader for Enhancing Reading Experience with Touch and Voice-Controls |
| Summary | SpeakScreen is designed to make reading easier and more accessible for everyone. By using text recognition (OCR) and text-to-speech (TTS), the app lets users take pictures of text from documents like PDF or images, and then it reads the text out loud. The system uses smartphones to capture and process visual content and convert it into audio for easy listening. To make the app easy to use, it will feature physical buttons for Start, Stop, etc allowing users to easily control the reading experience with a tap. Additionally, voice command functionality will be included, giving users the option to control the app hands-free. Commands like "Start", "Stop" etc will provide an alternative for those who prefer to speak rather than tap, offering a more flexible and personalized reading experience. These features will be initially implemented in the Android app like Flutter, with plans for future development of an iOS version as the project progresses. The goal of this project is not only to provide everyone with a more enjoyable reading experience, but also to offer users a more independent and efficient way to interact with written content. |
