| Title | A Portable Data Processing Device for On-site Health Monitoring |
| Objective | To develop a portable palm-sized instrument which recieves and processes the excitation and response dynamic signals of a mechatronic system to evaluate the real and imaginary part of the system input impedance. |
| Scope | The instrument box will be constructed based on a commercially available DSP (Digital Signal Processing) board. The two received signals will be converted into digital records first and then processed and transformed into a frequency response function, namedly in impedance, in frequency domain. The resulting functions will then be sent out from the device and ready for further processing or display by a notebook computer. From this project, a student will get familiar with dynamic signal measurement, processing and some firmware programming. |
