Title A microfluidic viscometer
Objective The project aims to develop a microfludic viscometer. The measurement concept is based on the effect of hydrodynamic spreading. A known fluid is inctroduced into the microchannels with another fluid with unknown viscosity. Based on the measured spreading width of the unknown fluid and the given flow rates, the viscosity and the shearstress can be calculated, thus measured.
Scope 1. Setting up the measurement system using exsisting camera and syringe pump.2. Modifying an existing Mathlab program to control the pump and the camera3. Evalation of the recorded images4. Using an existing program to evaluate the viscosity and shear stress of the unknown fluid.
