| Title | Control of a 1 Degree of Freedom Haptics Device |
| Objective | To effectively perform real time control of a 1 DOF master-slave feedback system. |
| Scope | Haptics devices are becoming an essential item in master-slave systems. With haptics, the operator using the master device would be able to feel what the slave is experiencing. This could be in terms of tactile or force feedback. Teleoperation in surgery would be a field where haptics would be very useful since the surgeon working on a master device would be able to ‘feel’ what the slave manipulator is experiencing in the patient’s body. The student would be tasked to write a software to control a 1 DOF master-slave feedback system. The candidate should have prior experience in control engineering. |
