Title Hovering Control of a Model Helicopter
Objective The objective of this project is to achieve autonomous hovering of an existing model helicopter. An existing model helicopter rig is available for developing the control law. Real time hardware/software in the loop simulation is used to verify the algorithm.
Scope A commercial off the shelve model helicopter is available. (i) Understand the aerodynamics of the model helicopter both in hover and forward flight. (ii) Study the actuators used in the helicopter. (iii) Evaluate existing helicopter design and develop a conceptual control law. (iv) Integrate additional sensors to achieve hovering control.
Prerequisites Experience in flying actual (model) helicopter is required.
