| Title | Development of an ultrasonic based electrical discharge machining system |
| Objective | A typical EDM equipment uses either a relaxation type or transistor type pulse generator. The aim in this project is to introduce a controlled displacement and time dependent variable so as to generate an electric waveform for the spark discharges. |
| Scope | The project will involve an assembly of ultrasonic components and linear translation stages, and setup of an experimental rig for the investigation work. Measurements of voltage and current waveforms during sparking, and microscope measurements of specimen will be conducted. |
