Title Optimization for Flight Applications
Objective To formulate and solve optimization problems in aerial vehicle flight path planning
Scope To perform aerial operations autonomously and with intelligence, information can be derived and decisions can be made via the optimizing of various functions and parameters. In this project, optimization problems in flight path planning are to be formulated and solved to demonstrate the application of numerical optimization and computational intelligence methods to aerial operations. In this project, literature in this field will be surveyed and various mathematical programming algorithms will be studied and implemented via Matlab programming and Excel. The program will then be applied to solve problems of optimization and de-confliction of multiple aircraft trajectories, subject to constraints on speed and turning rate, etc.
