Title Advanced lithium niobate optical modulators for optical communication applications
Summary Ultra-short optical pulse source with ultra-low timing jitter becomes an essential part of many demanding applications such as optical signal processing, nonlinear optics research, frequency comb, and medical instruments. In order to investigate the fundamental physical limitation of timing jitter reduction, we need to consider the sources of phase noise. Then the fundamental physical limit of timing-jitter will be examined with respect to the laser configuration, pulse-width, repetition rate, and optical filtering effects.
