Title Nanostructured Optical Fiber and its Applications
Summary In this project, the Lithium niobate (LiNbO3) optical modulators will be investigated theoretically and experimentally in order to generate Electro-Optical frequency comb. Then by applying a linear dispersion compensating component to the optical frequency comb, the phase difference of different frequency components can be eliminated thus all the frequencies are in the same phase and an ultra-short optical pulse analogous to mode-locked pulse can be achieved. Meanwhile the polarization modulation (PM) will be realized using LiNbO3 optical modulators and a PM-based optical buffer will be demonstrated.
