Postponed - Introduction to LaTeX (3 Apr 2020)

This workshop provides an introduction to LaTeX  and equips participants to self-learn and explore LaTex at their own pace. LaTeX is a document preparation system for high-quality typesetting. It is often used by students who needed to write documents that include complex math expressions or non-Latin scripts.

Topics will include:

The structure of LaTeX documents, basic formatting, document layout, math in LaTeX, how to use packages, and more. 

• Basics of LaTex
• Formatting text
• Sections, subsections
• Scientific type setting (equations)
• Figures, graphs & tables
• Citations and referencing
   

Workshop requirements:

1. Bring your own laptop
2. Register for an account at https://overleaf.com

Important notes:

• Ensure that you have taken your body temperature before attending the workshop
• Please note that a photograph of the class seated as a whole will be taken to facilitate contact tracing efforts should it become necessary
