As part of safe distancing measures implemented against the spread of COVID-19, NTU Library will be conducting workshops and consultations via online platforms until further notice.

 

Scholarly Communication & Impact (SCImpact) is a head start seminar for all new graduate research students as you begin to engage with your new academic environment. This seminar aims to help you build a strong foundational knowledge in the scholarly research and publishing environment through activities and discussions.

 

- Examine the importance and use of scholarly metrics such as citations and impact in publishing

- Understand the the open access movement and how you can participate

- Experience various Library tools and services that are most useful for you

- Acquire practical skills to aptly apply learnt knowledge with confidence to advance your research career

 

(Compulsory for all new PhD and Master by Research students within first year of study)

 

 Note: There will be some pre class materials that participants will be expected to read before attending the live online session.
