Discovery Talk Series - The Art of Relaxation

The Art of Relaxation

It is common knowledge that relaxation has multiple benefits for our health, wellbeing, and productivity. It helps us to have a calmer and clearer mind which facilitates positive thinking, concentration, memory, and sound decision making.

In this session, the speaker will talk about the benefits of relaxation, and take you through different techniques such as deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, and imagery. With the skills you learn from this session, you can teach your peers and loved ones techniques to relax, and can practise these techniques daily for your own wellbeing.

 

About the speaker:

Dr Tay Yi Ling is a clinical psychologist with the Singapore Association for Mental Health (SAMH) for three years. She has a professional doctorate in Clinical Psychology and has been working in Singapore’s community mental health setting supporting clients in their journey towards recovery.
