About the seminar:

This highly interactive webinar will feature questions and answers throughout. It will offer clear insight and sound advice to those PhD researchers who are wishing to improve their time management skills. The topics the webinar will discuss include how to decide upon priorities, how to become more productive, managing expectations around productivity and establishing positive habits. Participants would be able to explain how to prioritize for effectiveness, develop realistic planning approaches, and integrate effective time management with personal style for sustainability.

 

About the speaker:

With a background as a Chartered Engineer in aerospace engineering, Elaine is a freelance soft skills development consultant and an expert in doctoral education and career management. For more than ten years, Elaine led the team responsible for postgraduate professional development at Imperial College London, supporting more than 6000 graduate students in realising both academic and career goals. During this time, the innovation and impact of her team’s work were recognised by two national awards and resulted in numerous invitations to partner with internationally leading universities including NTU, HKU, MIT, and Tsinghua University. Elaine continues to research on doctoral education issues including the evaluation of skills development courses, the wellbeing of researchers and the role of creativity in scientific research.
