Event Info

The 2022 Lien Development Conference is co-organised by the Nanyang Centre for Public Administration (NCPA) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), with the Lien Ying Chow Legacy Fellowship, International Institute of Administrative Sciences, and the Stratagem Group between 25-26 November 2022. Today’s volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) world poses not only unprecedented challenges, but also new opportunities in governance amidst trends such as accelerating climate change, heightening geopolitical tensions, deglobalisation, rapid digitization, prolonged economic, and supply chain volatilities, worsening inequality, as well as the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The theme this year, “The Dynamics of Governance in a Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous World” invites academics, researchers, and practitioners from various fields and around the world to come together and deliberate how governance has developed in the VUCA world that we currently live in.

This event will be held over two days. On Day 1 - 25 November, the main conference will take place at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. Highlights on this day include keynote speeches and dialogue sessions involving leading global academics and practitioners. On Day 2 – 26 November, the conference will continue at The Arc, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, where concurrent academic panel sessions will be held, covering the broad themes of governance, trade and economy, politics, sustainability, and technology.
