First Impressions Last - Mastering Your Elevator Pitch

by Ms Geraldine Kan

14 Jun 2023, Wed | 10.30am – 12noon | ABN Seminar Room 1-1

About the seminar:

First impressions last. We only have a few minutes to make an impression on potential collaborators, employers, advisors. A strong elevator pitch allows you to stand out and differentiate yourself, to show the impact your work will make, and communicate the pain points it solves for others. It determines whether you get the grant, whether you land the project, whether you score the job. And for that, you need to clearly articulate why you’re doing what you’re doing, how it matters to others, and what will change because of you. This 90-minute Communications workshop will provide participants the tools to speak about your work in a clear, confident, and compelling way.

About the speaker:

Geraldine (Geri) Kan is a regional Communications Leader with over two decades of experience working with multinational technology companies such as HP Inc, Lenovo, and IBM. She is known for her ability to shape narratives, drive corporate and executive communications, and manage media and analyst relations. In addition to her leadership roles at multinationals, Geri has also led the Corporate and Technology Practice at Golin Singapore, where she worked with clients such as McDonald's Corporation, Morgan Stanley, and SATS.

*Do note that students are required to stay for 75% of the seminar duration in order to get their attendance endorsed.
