About the seminar: The session will cover introduction to patenting, patent application, good practices and internationalizing patent application. The objective is for participants to have a general appreciation and understanding of patent application and its processes. At the end of the webinar, students would have gained useful knowledge about what constitutes a patent application, good practices in preparing a Singapore patent application and ways of internationalizing a patent application..
About the speaker: Dr Jie Xiao is a Patent Examiner at IPOS International for over eight years, specializing in biotechnology and medical devices. She holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the School of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University. She has conducted postdoctoral research in Oxford University and University College London. She has authored 20+ peer-reviewed journal papers and conference proceedings/abstracts, 11 of which are first-authored.
